Track Name: Cathedral
I'm more anxious to forget it
than I ever was to learn it
so I'm trading all these drinks
for distorted memories.
I push all of my thoughts
on anyone I want
and imagine who I want them to be
until I start to be believe-
that its true.

Facts are layered in the bullshit
between photographs and trinkets
so I'm breaking down this bulk head
to erode them and forget.
But a telephone call
or sentimental song
forces fragments to align
like an old stained glass
cathedral.

Relive the past
We'll add a little lead between glass.
Panels may change
image stays the same.
If I trust my past
ever memory that I have
I must have faith
hidden in this cathedral.

The church of nostalgia
I pay tithing to
worship the untrue.
Am I even who I am?

Light still filters through the artwork
and illuminates the hardwood
where we stand in rows of pews
and harmonize a tune.
As these intervals move
stories become truth
forcing fragments to align
like and old stained glass
cathedral.

Relive the past
We'll add a little lead between glass.
Panels may change
image stays the same.
If I trust my past
ever memory that I have
I must have faith
hidden in this cathedral.

The church of nostalgia
I pay tithing to
worship the untrue.
Am I even who I am?
Track Name: Staying
Will you stay, and hold my hand?
I'm failing, and breaking down.
Will you stay, and lend your strength?
My tired and shaking legs.
Will you stay, and watch me fade?
I'll go home while you're still laying here.

When I was younger I felt so brave
Now that I'm older well it all feels cliche.
If time has a way of repeating events
We will return here and I can love you again.
But we'll never know
No we'll never know.
Track Name: Without Witness
They're gonna guard it
like a secret
they're gonna camouflage my confessions.
They call it crazy talk,
so you can't tell if I'm joking or not.

Walking
down a dirt road
I started following all the fireflies.
I must have got in their way
when I awoke alone I had a headache for days.

I am a subject
I'm an experiment
I'm connected to them.

No ones gonna believe the story now...
Its without witness.

Well I was taken over
if you knew me, then you'd notice.
To be frozen in it's brilliance
it was lovely, to be weightless.
Maybe I was drinking
I'm human, I'm not lying.
You loved me in my silence,
but I've spoken, now deny it.

No one ever believes these stories anyways...
they're without witness.

Got an appointment
with a doctor
we'll shop through catalogs of prescriptions.
Planning out the day-to-day
And I can't tell if its better this way.

Walking
through the city
I feel mechanical with these chemicals
pooling in my simple brain.
I'm carbon, I'm a stone or softened clay.

Mixed
with emotions
if they were planted there or they're natural
I'm gonna call them my own.
When I'm upset, is that clay or is that stone?

I am a subject
I'm an experiment
I'm connected to them.

No ones gonna believe the story now...
its without witness.

I can't help but see the nature
in our actions, we're destroyers.
Its man-made if he builds it
but how man-made are his children?
This anthill has confused you
this city is just a costume.
You loved me in my silence,
but I've spoken, now deny it.

I listen to the radio
just to feel like I am not alone.

You loved me in my silence,
but I've spoken, now deny it.
Track Name: Oversized Shoes
Lost like a drop
in a river married to a mountain.
I am an old tale
who is yearning to be found out now.

No one really knows what I am
my story's been written through the hand of a fearful man
Cities give me anxiety
I'd rather be living in the trees near a forest stream.
Do you fear my strength?
Do you fear my ignorance?
Do you fear me, like a true brute?
Do you fear my solitude?

I'm cursed
with your thoughts,
when you find me
tell me why you hate me.
Truth couldn't move you
so just shove me in this shoe, please, won't you?

No one really knows who I am
my story's been written through the hand of a trusting man.
I could never harm anyone
I'd rather be laying in a field with the beating sun.
Do you need my heart?
Do you need my open arms?
Do you trust me, like an old friend?
Do you trust my cowardice?

I'm cursed
in your thoughts,
when you find me
tell me why you love me.
Truth couldn't move you
so just shove me in this shoe, please, won't you decide?

If you really fear me,
if you really hate me,
if you really trust me,
if you really love me,
if you really think you'll find me out.

I've been out here all my life, you couldn't prove that I exist.
Come visit me again, I will be watching.
Track Name: Say Cheese
Light shines
bright from the spirit inside
and its captured on three by five.
Heart beating in thin air
to lock it in an endless stare
you can't explain this sign
but you know how it felt at that time.
Shimmering perfectly
you just need to see it
to remember that feeling, now don't forget.

Through the camera lens
you're surrounded by friends.
Kicking waves on a beach
where we said we would meet.
You forgot to say cheese
but thats only routine.
The shutter couldn't erase
that smile from your face.

I wanted to see my life
through a filter as kind
to details I've brushed aside.
So in turning a new page
in an album thats wearing with age
you point out every shape
there, that I couldn't see in this light.
Shimmering perfectly
I could believe
They're always here around you and me.

Through the camera lens
I'm surrounded by friends.
Playing music downstairs
where the roommates won't care.
I forgot to say cheese
but thats only routine.
The shutter couldn't erase
this smile from my face.

Through your beautiful lens
we're surrounded by friends.
Drinking beers on the street
where we said we would meet.
We forgot to say cheese
but thats only routine.
The shutter couldn't erase
these smiles from our face.
Track Name: A Poem to Help You Sleep
This is a poem
to help you sleep.
When the nights are rough
and you don't dream.
Eyes only
reflect the ceiling.

This reoccurring thought
is killing me.

There is a dot on my hand left from a permanent marker that makes me think of the girl, attached to the pen, that put a mark on my skin.

She put a mark on my life.
